Welcome to FAOPS & PSANZ Sydney 2012
On behalf of the local organising committee it is our pleasure to invite you to the combined 17th Congress of the Federation of Asian and Oceania Perinatal Societies (FAOPS) and the 16th Annual Congress of the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand (PSANZ) – FAOPS & PSANZ Sydney 2012.
The congress will be held from Sunday 18 to Wednesday 21 March 2012 at the Convention Centre in Darling Harbour, Sydney. Professionals from all disciplines involved in clinical perinatal care, education and research are invited to attend. These professional include; obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, neonatal nurses, basic scientists, epidemiologists, therapists and educators from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Oceania and beyond. We aim to provide a stimulating and welcoming environment for the sharing of scientific knowledge and clinical expertise. The theme for this congress is Collaboration in Perinatal Care. Hence, the focus will be how all the disciplines come together from many different organisations, states and countries to research and implement best practice in perinatal care.
Sydney is a thriving and vibrant city. There are the famous fine golden sand beaches with rolling waves to learn to surf or just laze in one of the many cafés drinking latte's while munching on a bruschetta. There are many interesting galleries showcasing the finest Australian collections of contemporary and traditional art. The shopping is amazing with many interesting arcades, boutique collections and some of the best designers in the world. The Convention Centre and surrounding hotels are located at Darling Harbour which can serve as a springboard to many of the harbour activities ranging from a ferry trip to Taronga Zoo to the thrill of a hi-speed jet-boat ride around the harbour. The bohemian areas of the inner west are a short bus ride where there are many restaurants of different cuisines, hole-in-the-wall bars to taste many of the fine wines and beers, as well as intimate clubs where you can listen to the latest music. The surrounding areas of the Royal National Park, Hunter Valley and Blue Mountains can provide interesting day trips before or after the congress.
If you are a company, we welcome your participation as a sponsor or exhibitor. Please contact the congress managers.
This congress will be a collaboration landmark and your participation will highten the possibility for future research and policy development between the many nations that this congress encompasses.
We look forward to seeing and meeting you in Sydney 2012
